Scripts - Ireland’s Playwriting Festival
is now launching an entire new event dedicated to:
WILD FOR THE WIRELESS
April 16th-April 18th 2015

Scripts - Ireland’s Playwriting Festival is dedicated to new Irish plays - the writing of them, the development and nurturing of them. On the festival's first outing in 2013 Birr Theatre & Art's Centre played host to an ensemble of playwrights, producers, actors and directors, all working towards one goal - to produce 7 outstanding new Irish plays in 7 fun filled days!
Playwrights were mentored by Eugene O'Brien in an exciting developmental process which saw writers watch their plays moving from page to stage. One of the 7 plays was a Radio Play produced under the Wild For The Wireless section of the programme. Co produced with Midlands 103 Radio " Meat and Blue Wicked" by Gillian Greer has since won a prestigious Silver PPI Award for Best Drama.
Taking inspiration from the success and excitement generated by the production of the radio play and subsequent PPI success, Scripts - Ireland’s Playwriting Festival are now launching an entirely new event dedicated to:
WILD FOR THE WIRELESS
