Scripts Programme 2025

We had a wonderful eleventh outing of Scripts: Ireland’s Playwriting Festival, in July this year.  Scripts is a dynamic celebration of contemporary Irish theatre, dedicated to nurturing and showcasing the finest new plays from emerging and established playwrights.

Every year, we invite 3 playwrights to come to Birr for a week of mentorship with Eugene O'Brien and a rehearsed reading of their work by professional actors.

Festival

Scripts is dedicated to showcasing the finest new plays and fostering fresh voices in Irish theatre.  After taking a break last year, our festival returns from 10-13 July 2025
