2024 COLLABORATORS
Jim Culleton
Director
Jim, a longtime collaborator with SCRIPTS is the Artistic Director of Fishamble: The New Play Company for which he has directed productions on tour throughout Ireland, UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US.
​
His productions for Fishamble have won Olivier, The Stage, Scotsman Fringe First and Irish Times Best Director Awards. Jim has also directed for the Abbey Theatre, the Gaiety, the Belgrade, CoisCéim, Amnesty International, Little Museum of Dublin and Fighting Words. He has directed audio plays for Audible, BBC, RTÉ Radio 1 and RTÉ Lyric fm.
Jim will direct our professional actors in our Festival Finale, Nurtured New Works, on Sunday 14 July at Birr Theatre & Arts Centre.​​
Selina O'Reilly
Guest Judge
Selina is a theatre producer and arts administrator currently working as the Literary and New Work Assistant with the Abbey Theatre.
Selina has been with the theatre since 2020 and manages all events, workshops and writer development programmes run by the department. Prior to this, Selina worked as a producer namely with Rough Magic Theatre Company, Barabbas, the Company and Calypso Productions and has produced over 25 professional productions.
She holds a BA in Theatre and English from St. Mary’s University, in Twickenham.
David Horan
Guest Judge & Workshop Host
David is the Artistic Director of Bewley’s Café Theatre in Dublin where he is leading PERCOLATE, a new development programme for playwrights which draws support from a panel of expert voices.
He is also a freelance director and an award winning writer.

David is also hosting one of our playwriting workshops this year; Time for Action on Sunday 14 July.
Pamela McQueen
Workshop Host
Pamela is programme manager for the diversity playwriting project The Baptiste Project with Black Irish theatre makers in Smock Alley Theatre.
She is also project manager for The Mavens & The Mavens Lab playwright development programmes for 35yrs+ female theatre makers at The Mill Theatre.
In 2024, she Pamela will be curating a new ISSD & I.T.I mentorship platform for designers and playwrights, Design Matters:Explore Design. She is also a mentor and workshop facilitator with Minding Creative Minds.

​​Pamela will host our Promoting Female Writers workshop on Saturday 13 July in association with Minding Creative Minds.
Rían Smith
Workshop Host
Rían is a dramaturg and writer, currently working at the Abbey Theatre as Literary and New Work Associate. He has worked in various theatre and film departments, in Ireland, the UK, and New York. He is a graduate of the National Film School at IADT, having majored in Screenwriting.

Rían is hosting the SOLD OUT Playing with Time workshop on Friday 12 July.
Niall Austin
Workshop Host
Niall Austin is an award-winning Writer and Technologist, whose work is steeped in the art of storytelling. His new show ‘7 Deadly Sins’ is a hybrid Theatre / eGaming experience, premiering at the Civic Theatre in July 2024. Previous work includes play’s ‘Inferno21’, ‘PL-AI’ and ‘Deep Fake’, writing and composing Ronnie Drew’s last album, and creating games and interactive installations for the Olympic Movement, Coca-Cola, Heineken and Yoko Ono.
Niall is hosting the workshop, Where the Stage meets the Digital Age, on Sunday 14 July.
